Yes, expats can invest their hard-earned money in the Saudi stock market and buy and sell shares of any company listed on Tadawul. The following people are allowed to buy shares in Saudi Arabia;
- Saudi Nationals.
- GCC nationals with a Saudi Bank account.
- Iqama holders of Saudi Arabia.
- Any business or company registered in Saudi Arabia.
Buy IPO Shares with SNB
To open a Tadawul account in Saudi Arabia with SNB, you need to
1- Wait for any company’s Initial Public Offering (IPO). You will get the latest updates about the IPOs on the Tadawul website.
2- Buy any shares in that IPO from any bank account. To do that, we are using an example of the SNB Al Ahli account;
- Download the Application through PlayStore or iTunes.
- Login to your Internet Bank Account.
- Click on the Menu in the bottom-right corner.
- Select “Investments“.
- Click on the “IPO.”
- Select the company you want to invest in.
- Enter the number of shares you want to buy in the IPO.
- Click the “Confirm” button to buy IPO shares and start investing in the Saudi Stock Market.
3- After a few days, you will receive an SMS from your bank about the number of shares you have bought in the IPO.
Open a Tadawul account with SNB
4- The bank has already opened your Tadawul account and credited your IPO shares. To activate your Saudi stock market account,
- Log in to your SNB Al Ahli Bank account.
- Click on the Menu in the bottom-right corner.
- Click on “Investments“.
- Select “Tadawul Portfolio“.
- Note down your “Trading Account Number.”
5- Now open the Al Ahli Tadawul website from this link;
- Click on “Register in Saudi Market“.
- Agree to the terms and conditions.
- Enter Iqama Number.
- Enter the “Portfolio Number” noted down at point 4 above.
6- That’s it; you have successfully created a Tadawul account. Now, you can invest/buy, and sell shares in the Saudi Stock Market through this link.
Buy IPO Shares with Al Rajhi Bank
To open a Tadawul account in Saudi Arabia with Al Rajhi Bank, you need to
1- Wait for an Initial Public Offering (IPO) of any company. You will get the latest updates about the IPOs on the Tadawul website.
2- Buy any amount of shares in that IPO from any bank account. In order to do that we are using an example of Al Rajhi Bank account.
- Download the Application through PlayStore or iTunes.
- Log in to your Internet banking account.
- Scroll down and select “IPO“.
- Click on the “Main Market Subscription” option.
- Select the company you want to invest in.
On the next page,
- Enter the number of shares you want to purchase.
- Broker Name: Al Rajhi Financial Services Co.
- Agree to the terms and conditions.
- Click on the “Confirm” button to buy IPO shares and start investing in the Saudi Stock Market.
After a few days, you will receive an SMS from your bank about the number of shares you have bought in the IPO.
Open a Tadawul account with Rajhi
3- On the day IPO allotted shares start trading on Tadawul, Al Rajhi Bank will open your account with Al Rajhi Capital. To activate your Saudi stock market account;
- Download the Application through PlayStore or iTunes.
- Log in to your Internet banking account.
- Click on the “Explore” option.
- Select “All Services.”
- Note down your “Portfolio Number.”
4- Now you need to activate your account with Al Rajhi Capital. To activate it;
- Install the Rajhi Capital application from PlayStore or iTunes.
- Register as a New User and complete the process.
- After the registration, log in to the Rajhi Capital website.
- Update KYC information on the website. It will give an error on the application.
- That’s it, you are all set to invest, buy and sell shares on the Saudi stock market.
