How to be an Imam of Masjid al Nabawi?
Although the Saudi government appoints Imams, the following 4 conditions must be met to be an Imam of the Prophet’s Mosque.
- To have Saudi Citizenship.
- To be 30 or older.
- To have a Magister degree from a Saudi university.
- To memorize the Quran and have a good recitation.

Sheikh Abdul Mohsen Al Qasim
Sheikh Abdul Mohsen bin Muhammad bin Abdul Rahman bin Muhammad bin Abdullah bin Qasim was born in 1968 and memorized the Quran at a tender age.

He took a doctorate in Islamic jurisprudence and was appointed as an Imam of Masjid al Nabawi in 1997.
Sheikh Saleh Al Badir
Sheikh Saleh Al Badir was born in 1970 in Hofuf. He took a bachelor’s degree in Shariah from Muhammad Bin Saud Islamic University.

He was appointed as an Imam and preacher in Masjid al Nabawi in 1998. He has been leading the Taraweeh prayers in the Prophet’s Mosque since 2005.
Sheikh Ahmed Bin Talib
Sheikh Ahmed Bin Talib bin Abdul Hamid bin Al Muzaffar Khan was born in 1980 in Riyadh. He obtained his doctorate in comparative jurisprudence from the Higher Judicial Institute.
He is the grandson of Sheikh Abdul Majeed Al-Jabarti, who was also an Imam of Prophet’s mosque.

He was appointed in Ramadan 1434 to lead Taraweeh and Tahhajud prayers in Masjid al Nabawi and was later appointed as the Imam on 9 October 2013.
Sheikh Abdullah bin Abdul Rahman
Abdullah bin Abdul Rahman bin Suleiman Al-Baijan is currently an Imam of Masjid al Nabawi and a faculty member at the Islamic University, of Madinah.

He was appointed the Imam of Prophet’s Mosque in 2013 and completed his doctorate degree in the Department of Sharia Politics from Imam Muhammad bin Saud Islamic University in 2015.
Sheikh Khaled Al Muhanna
Khalid bin Suleiman bin Abdullah bin Suleiman bin Muhanna Al-Shammari was born in Al Ahsa in 1976. He took a doctorate from the Imam Muhammad bin Saud Islamic University in 2010.

Sheikh Khalid Al Muhanna was appointed as the Imam of Masjid al Nabawi on 13 October 2019.
Sheikh Ahmed bin Ali Al-Hudhaifi
Sheikh Dr. Ahmed bin Ali Al-Hudhaifi is the Imam, advisor, and agent supervising the guidance and intellectual affairs of the General Presidency for the Affairs of Prophet’s Mosque.
His father Ali Bin Abdur Rahman Al Huthaify was also an Imam of Masjid al-Nabawi.

Sheikh Muhammad bin Ahmed Burhaji
Sheikh Dr. Muhammad bin Ahmed Burhaji was appointed to lead Taraweeh prayers at Masjid al Nabawi as an Imam in 2024. He is a Professor of Qur’anic Recitations at Taybah University and a Member of the Advisory Council of the Iqra Sheikhdom.

Sheikh Abdullah bin Abdul Mohsen Al- Qarafi
Sheikh Dr. Abdullah bin Abdul Mohsen Al-Qarafi was appointed an imam in 2024 to lead Taraweeh prayers at Masjid al Nabawi. He graduated from Sharia College and obtained a doctorate in Islamic economics from the Islamic University in Madina.
Sheikh Dr. Abdullah bin Abdul Mohsen Al-Qarafi is well known for his beautiful recitation of the Holy Quran.
