7 regrets of a dead man as per Islam

I wish I were dust.

The Day, every person will see the consequences of what their hands have done, and the disbelievers will cry, “I wish I were dust. – An-Naba 78-40

I wish I had sent forth something good

Hell is brought forth on that Day. This is when every disbelieving person will remember their sins. But what is the use of remembering then?

  • They will cry, “I wish I had sent forth something good for my true life.” – Al Fajr 89:24

7 regrets of a dead man as per Islam

I wish I had not been given my record.

For those given their record in their left hand, they will cry bitterly; I wish I had not been given my record. – Al-Haqqa 69:25

Not making a friend

Woe to me! I wish I had never taken so-and-so as a close friend. It was he who truly made me stray from the Reminder after it had reached me. – Al-Furqan 25:28

Following Prophet Muhammad

Oh! I wish I had followed the Way along with Prophet Muhammad ﷺ. – Al-Furqan 25:27

Not associating anyone with Allah

Alas! I wish I had never associated anyone with Allah in worship! – Al-Kahf 18:42

Being a believer

If only you could see when they will be detained before the Fire! They will cry, “Oh! If only we could be sent back, we would never deny the signs of our Lord and we would ˹surely˺ be of the believers. – Al-An’am 6:27

These are the desires which are impossible to achieve after death, that is why it is very important to reform your beliefs and actions in life. May Allah grant us the wisdom to think and act.
