Terminate the contract in Qiwa
To resign in Qiwa, you need to;
- Register yourself with the Qiwa platform.
- Log in to your Qiwa Individual account: https://sso.qiwa.sa/sign-in
- Click on the “Individual Account“.
- Click on the 3 bars for options.
- Select the “Services” tab.
- Click on “Manage Contracts.”
- Click on “Employment Contract“.
- Find the desired contract and click on ‘Terminate contract’.
- Choose the reason for termination (explained below).
Remember that you must comply with the rules for the notice period in Saudi Arabia while selecting the last working day. You can also request the employer to reduce the notice period through Qiwa at this stage.
- Review the details and select ‘Send termination request.’
Resignation Reasons
While termination the contract in Qiwa, you can select one of the following reasons.
Resignation: You must comply with the rules for the notice period in Saudi Arabia. Remember that the employer can apply Article 77 of Saudi Labor Law.
During Probation: There is no need for a notice period if you resign during probation period.
By Mutual Agreement: If you select this option, the contract will be terminated only if the employer approves it. Once the termination is approved, the employer cannot apply Article 77 of Saudi Labor Law.
Termination upon Expiry: Your last working day will be the day of the expiry of your contract.
Retirement Age: You can resign at your retirement age in Saudi Arabia.
Article 77: If you select this option, you must pay the employer until the end of the contract.
Individual establishment to a new owner: If your employer is moving from an individual establishment (Moassasa) to a company, you may decide to resign with immediate effect.
Death of the employer: You may decide not to continue with the employer after his death if it was an individual establishment.
Article 81 Resignation: There are 7 conditions under which you can resign under Article 81 of the Saudi Labor Law without any notice.
Post Termination Process
As soon as you complete the contract termination process in Qiwa, your employer will be notified.
- Your contract will be terminated after the notice period is over.
- If you requested a shorter notice period, wait for your employer’s approval. Once approved, your contract will end on the agreed-upon date.
- During the probation period, your contract will be terminated immediately.
